This series explores the purpose of evolution as the expansion of consciousness through our conscious participation in the One Life. Drawing on the teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras — primarily as interpreted in Light of the Soul by Alice Bailey — we will look at how experiences within time and space can be refined: transformed from distortion into lasting impressions of Beauty and Love, preparing us for the meditation focus in the next series.
Progress in these sessions is not measured by extraordinary experiences, but by a deepening alignment with three essential qualities:
The work of the aspirant is to consciously refine their experiences into enduring impressions of Beauty and Love, preparing the way for Soul Contact and the Way of the Disciple. This is not a path of withdrawal or asceticism, but of conscious participation in life, where everyday experiences become opportunities for growth, service, and the realization of our deeper unity with all beings. The series unfolds across 12 modules, progressively exploring how Yama, Niyama, Asana, and Pranayama train the aspirant to observe without identification, experience without attachment, and relate without separation.
Class dynamic: Each session begins with a simple group centering meditation, after which a teacher presents the week’s lesson using slides. While it is beneficial to have read the assigned text beforehand, no one is required to have done so before attending. Newcomers are warmly welcome to listen in, even if you are not yet ready to engage. Those who are comfortable discussing and asking questions are invited to contribute respectfully to the shared exploration with questions and/or insights. Our goal is an atmosphere of genuine shared inquiry into the concepts.
We look forward to exploring this together. See you Tuesday!
